Pwersa Balita is a dedicated News and Agri Affairs media organization committed to telling stories that truly matter—especially those rooted in the land, the sea, and the everyday lives of Filipinos often left out of the mainstream spotlight.
With more than 28 years of experience in broadcast journalism, we deliver credible, timely, and relevant agriculture and general news to millions of Filipinos across print, digital, and social media platforms.
We believe agriculture is more than an industry—it is the nation’s lifeline. Pwersa Balita amplifies the voices of farmers, fisherfolk, agri-entrepreneurs, and rural communities that have long been overlooked. We shine a light on stories of resilience, innovation, and progress that shape the future of both rural and urban Philippines.
We combine the values of traditional journalism with modern innovation—publishing weekly print editions and providing engaging digital content designed for today’s fast-moving audiences. From investigative reports and hyper-local coverage to multimedia storytelling and PR services, we bridge the gap between rural realities and the national discourse.
Founded in 2003 and guided by media veterans Jimmy Vistar and Roy Bato, Pwersa Balita stands as a force for truth, inclusivity, and community empowerment. As a proud member of the Publishers Association of the Philippines, Inc. (PAPI), we are committed to using the power of media to inform, inspire, and empower communities toward progress.

The People Behind Pwersa Balita
Pwersa Balita is a proud member of the Publishers Association of the Philippines, Inc. (PAPI), where co-founder Jimmy Vistar has previously served multiple terms as a member of the Board of Directors. Vistar is a seasoned figure in community journalism and a respected entrepreneur with a deep passion for agriculture — an industry he continuously supports through advocacy and media initiatives.
His partner, Roy Bato, co-founder of Pwersa Balita, is a veteran broadcaster with over 28 years of experience in print, mainstream, and digital media. He is also the founding president of the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) CALABARZON Chapter, and is widely known for his advocacy for ethical journalism and regional media empowerment.
Together, Vistar and Bato form a powerhouse alliance dedicated to delivering credible, community-centered news that resonates with every Filipino. Their partnership is anchored in a strong commitment to inclusivity, innovative storytelling, and hyper-local journalism — with particular focus on the often-overlooked agriculture sector, which both founders believe is essential to sustainable national development.
Pwersa Balita is more than just a news outlet — it is a platform that promotes curated, values-driven journalism, offering the public positive, educational, and easily digestible news content crafted to engage and inform the diverse generations consuming news today.
Pwersa Balita traces its roots back to early 2003, when it was first conceptualized by co-founders Jimmy Vistar and Roy Bato, in collaboration with the late Johnny Dayang, one of the most respected journalists in the country and then-president of the Publishers Association of the Philippines, Inc. (PAPI).
What began as a humble newspaper column gradually evolved into a weekly newspaper publication. Over the years, the paper underwent numerous transitions, including changes in editorial leadership and several iterations of its name — the most recent being Pwersa News. Despite the challenges, the publication remained committed to its mission of delivering relevant and impactful journalism.
In 2023, the publication was officially rebranded as Pwersa Balita, signaling a renewed vision and identity. This marked the beginning of its digital transformation, laying the groundwork for a more modern and accessible media platform.
By 2025, Pwersa Balita repositioned itself as a dedicated News and Agri Affairs media outlet — a bold move to focus on a sector often neglected by mainstream media. Today, it continues to push boundaries by embracing innovation, digital platforms, AI-driven tools, and emerging technologies to serve a broader and more diverse audience.
Pwersa Balita stands firm in its legacy — and future — as a force for inclusive, reliable, and community-rooted journalism.
