Farmers, fertilizer companies, and agricultural stakeholders are advised to plan their transactions accordingly as the Fertilizer and Pesticide Authority (FPA) temporarily shifts to a skeletal workforce arrangement this week.

The FPA announced that its Fertilizer Regulations Division (FRD) will operate under a skeletal workforce capacity from June 15 to June 19, 2026. The advisory is intended to inform clients and stakeholders of temporary adjustments in operations while ensuring that essential services remain accessible through online channels.

Despite the reduced on-site workforce, the agency assured the public that electronic submissions of applications, concerns, and inquiries will continue to be accepted during the period. Stakeholders may submit applications with complete documentary requirements for pre-evaluation through the division's designated official communication channels.

The online services will cover various regulatory transactions, including product registration, licensing, clearances, and requests related to fertilizer products. Applications for traditional and non-traditional fertilizer products, third-party authorizations, and sample facilitation or confirmatory analysis may still be processed through electronic submission.

The agency also reminded stakeholders about the importance of timely filing, particularly for Certificate of Product Registration (CPR) renewals. According to the advisory, CPR renewal applications that are set to expire between June 15 and June 19, 2026, must be submitted electronically within the prescribed period. Applications that are filed on time and contain complete documentary requirements will not be subject to applicable surcharges.

The Fertilizer Regulations Division plays a critical role in ensuring that fertilizer products distributed in the country meet regulatory standards. Its functions include product registration, licensing, monitoring, and the issuance of clearances that support the safe and lawful movement of agricultural inputs across the country.

Fertilizers remain a key component of agricultural production, helping farmers improve crop yields and maintain soil productivity. As a result, uninterrupted regulatory services are important for businesses and producers who rely on timely approvals and clearances to support their operations.

Government agencies have increasingly adopted digital processes in recent years to ensure continuity of services during operational adjustments and special circumstances. Electronic submission systems allow clients to continue transacting with agencies while minimizing disruptions and maintaining regulatory compliance.

The FPA emphasized that stakeholders should ensure the completeness and accuracy of submitted documents to avoid delays in evaluation and processing. Applicants are also encouraged to monitor official announcements and communication channels for updates regarding their transactions.

Regular operations of the Fertilizer Regulations Division are scheduled to resume on June 22, 2026. Until then, clients are encouraged to take advantage of the agency's available online services to facilitate their regulatory requirements.

As the agricultural sector continues to depend on efficient government services, digital platforms remain an important tool in ensuring that essential regulatory functions continue without interruption.
